First School day

Well, i started my day at 6:00am, to get ready for my first day of school. I have to admit, i was quite nervous to be starting here....not knowing the language, makes making friends a lot harder to do.

For my first day, i would follow my host brother, Marius around to his classes, so i can see what a normal school day is like. School starts here at 7:50am. My first class was Erdkunde...sort of. With my host brother, his main course is Erdkunde (Geography) and in the first class, your main teacher (the one that teaches ur main course) is the one that goes over the general stuff. But, since she was an Erdkunde teacher, she sort of taught about geography...it just wasnt technically geography...anyways, each class is 45 minutes long.
Once this first class was over, we had a 5 minute Pause, and then we went back into Geography..(I am still not quite clear about why we went to geography twice in a row...) I didnt understand much of what was going on...

Once that class was finished, we had a 15 minute Pause, and went to the next class, which was Biologie. I pretty much understood what was going on in this class, it was all about Meiosis (sp?) and metaphase, telophase, etc. A lot of the Biologie terms, are very close to English ones, made it pretty easy to understand.

When this class was done, we again had a 5 minute Pause...and, at this point i went to go see the MSS (cant remeber what it stands for...but he decides my schedule) Marius came with me for this, so he could translate if needed. Once we got into the MSS' office, he spoke to me in German...and i understood everything he asked me!! it was a wonderful feeling!! =) I was then placed into the 11th klasse. My classes are, English, Bio, Mathe, Sport (volleyball, gymnastics, and dancing) German, Social Sciences, Musik, and Religion (Catholic)
I do not think i am going to like my sport class very much...the volleyball will be awesome, but as for dancing and gymnastics...that is not for me at all, thats mainly for my friends back in Wisconsin....

After we finished setting up my time table, Marius and i went to the next class...which was....Geography again!!!!!! (i am still not sure why i went to geography...yet again...) and after this class, we had another 15 minute Pause, and then went to geography...again...and lastly, i went to Religion. Religion, i understood what the teacher was asking us to do, but had no idea how to respond...lol.

Tomorrow i will be getting my own time table, and will experience my own classes...it shall be interesting!!!
And the school, is huge!!!! So, i am sure i will get lost...there are over 1600 students that go here...

But overall, it was tiring, but i enjoyed it.
=)
